Mobile Shelving

Blanton and Moore's wood shelving units may become mobile by adding a structural steel frame with 4" casters to the base of standard shelving sections.  A mobile assembly may consist of one or two sections of shelving (double face recommended) in an initial and adder configuration.  A three section is not recommended due to the weight of the units when filled with books.

The mobile frame consist of 1/4" x 1 1/2"h x 1 1/2"w structural steel members mitered and welded on four corners with heavy duty swivel casters welded to the underside.  Four casters are provided on single unit frames and six casters are provided on double frames.

For a modest increase in cost, both the single and the double mobile assemblies are available with a 4 1/4"h wood skirt around the frame's perimeter which conceals the steel frame and casters below.  The wood is the same species as the shelving and finished to match.

All steel caster frames are provided with a durable matt black finish.

Double unit mobile shelving assemblies. Shelving can be placed end to end as shown or moved around the library.
